Washing sneakers to remove soil and odor is easy. Most sneaker owners are nervous about doing it. They don’t want to ruin them. In fact, manufacturers are often very vague when describing cleaning guidelines. They have a good reason not to tell you how to effectively clean them. They would prefer to sell you another pair.
Athletic shoes of all sorts need to be cleaned more often then dress shoes. Sweat, soil, oil, and bacteria build up and cause premature wear. So you need to clean for appearance and smell by removing the dirt, grime, and pollutants that lead to premature replacement. Runners, cross-fit, skateboard, MMA, and all team sport players all need to be able to clean their footwear.
So how is it done? You can do it by hand in your kitchen sink or using your washing machine. What you need is the right product. OdorBalance® has developed a 2 step Offense/Defense Gear Wash that is great for cleaning sneakers. It’s first step cleans out stains and odors and then it protects the shoe from future staining and odors. In fact it will make the next time you clean your sneakers even easier.
